A.
The duties and terms of office of all the officers
and employees of the Township, in all cases where the duties and terms
of office are not otherwise provided, shall be as set forth in this
chapter.
B.
Wherever the term of office of a particular officer
or employee is hereinafter stated to be one year, the term of office
shall end on December 31 of the year in which that particular officer
or employee is appointed.
The Chairman of the Township Committee shall
be the chief executive officer of the Township. There shall be a Vice
Chairman of the Township Committee, who shall be elected by the members
of the Township Committee from their own number. His duty shall be
to perform, in the absence of the Chairman or in case of his inability
to serve, all of the duties and functions of the Chairman which are
imposed upon him by statute, ordinance or resolution.
The Township Committee shall employ, for such
periods as the Committee shall determine, subordinate employees, stenographers,
telephone operators, draftsmen, clerks, bookkeepers, cashiers, assistants,
mechanics, janitors, dog wardens, or Animal Control Officer, foremen,
inspectors and laborers as are necessary for the proper and efficient
administration of the affairs of the Township.
The Township Committee shall appoint and employ
a Township Attorney, or Attorneys, whose term of office shall be one
year, and a Township Physician, whose term of office shall be one
year.
