A. 
A Zoning Officer is hereby established, and said Officer shall be the Director of Planning and Zoning or his designee, and said Officer shall serve at the pleasure of the governing body. The Zoning Ordinance shall be administered and enforced by the Zoning Officer. The Zoning Officer may from time to time promulgate such rules and regulations as he/she may deem necessary for the proper administration of the Zoning Ordinance, subject to the approval and amendment by the Township Committee.

B. 
Records. The Zoning Officer shall maintain in his/her office a record of all actions, proceedings or complaints taken, instituted or filed by him/her.
C. 
Violations and penalties. For each and every violation of the Zoning Ordinance, the owner, contractor or other person or persons interested as lessee, tenant or otherwise in any building or premises where such violation has been committed or shall exist and who refuses to abate said violation within five days after written notice has been served upon him, either by registered mail or by personal service, shall be subject to a fine of up to $5,000 or to imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both, at the discretion of the court or judicial officer before whom a conviction may be had. Each and every day that such violation continues after such notice shall be considered a separate and specific violation.
