Tobyhanna Township hereby adopts, enacts and incorporates into
the Code of the Township of Tobyhanna Appendices B, C, D, E, F and
G of the 2003 International Fire Code, all as may be amended from
time to time, which appendices are incorporated herein by reference
and made a part hereof, to be read, applied and enforced throughout
Tobyhanna Township in conjunction with the Uniform Construction Code
previously adopted by passage of Ordinance No. 449, except that Appendix
B, Sections B101.1 through B101.1.1. of the 2003 International Fire
Code, as amended, shall be revised before enactment, adoption and
incorporation and shall by this chapter be adopted, enacted and incorporated
in its revised form, as follows:
B101.1 Scope. The procedure for determining fire-flow
requirements for buildings or portions of buildings hereafter constructed
shall be in accordance with NFPA 1142 as referenced in the appendix.
This appendix does not apply to structures other than buildings.

B101.1.1 This standard shall be used to provide minimum planning,
construction, maintenance, education, and management elements for
the protection of life and property.

B101.1.2 In applying this appendix, Fire Department fire-flow
capabilities will be determined to identify areas and sites requiring
additional on-site water supplies for the protection of life and property.
When the total fire flow of the project exceeds the present capabilities
of the initial responding Fire Department, additional capacity must
be available on site to meet the required fire flow.
