In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq., as amended and supplemented, there is hereby created the office of Chief Financial Officer.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council for a term of one year to commence on January 1 of each year, unless said term is superseded by statute, in which event said term shall be as specified by statute.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be duly qualified in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq., as amended and supplemented.
The Chief Financial Officer shall have all the duties, rights and obligations imposed upon the holder of said office by the statutes and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder by the State of New Jersey.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be compensated in accordance with the Salary Ordinance of the Borough of Hopatcong.[1]
