A code regulating the installation, maintenance, repair and control of the plumbing of buildings and the connections thereof with outside sewers, cesspools or other receptacles and regulating the practice of plumbing and the issuance of licenses to practice plumbing is hereby established pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 275, P.L. 1948.[1] A copy of said code is annexed hereto and made a part hereof without the inclusion of the text thereof herein.

Said code established and adopted by this chapter is described and commonly known as the "Plumbing Code of New Jersey" (revised 1964, and as further revised up to and including the revision of June 30, 1970).
Three copies of said Plumbing Code of New Jersey (revised 1964, and as further revised up to and including the revision of June 30, 1970), similarly marked, have been placed on file in the office of the Clerk of the municipality upon the introduction of this chapter and will remain on file in such office for the use and examination of the public.
Any person, firm or corporation in the Borough of Hopatcong who or which engages in any plumbing work in the Borough of Hopatcong shall have a New Jersey State master plumbing license.

The following are the fees which shall be charged and received under this chapter, including the Plumbing Code of New Jersey (revised 1964, and as further revised up to and including the revision of June 30, 1970) incorporated herein by reference:
A. 
For the filing of plans for new construction and examination thereof and issuance of a permit: $20 and, in addition, $2 for each trap involved.
B. 
For the filing of an application for the replacement of an existing fixture or fixtures and examination thereof and issuance of permit: $10 and, in addition, $1 for each trap involved.
C. 
In addition to the fees above prescribed under Subsection A hereof, and in place of the fee under Subsection B hereof, the applicant shall pay, for the filing of plans for the installation of a hot water heater or heaters at one location and examination thereof and issuance of permit, a fee of $10 and, in addition, $2 for each heater involved.
D. 
For each reinspection of plumbing work caused by the failure of the permittee to comply with the provisions of this chapter: $5
E. 
For each installation of a water-conditioning unit (no plans need be filed) and issuance of permit: $10 and, in addition, $1 for each additional unit or device.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter or of the Plumbing Code of New Jersey (revised 1964, and as further revised up to and including the revision of June 30, 1970) made a part hereof shall, upon conviction thereof, pay a penalty of not less than $2 nor more than $100 for each offense.
All fees, penalties and moneys collected under any provision of this chapter or the code established herein shall be paid to the Treasurer of the municipality.
