[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee
of the Township of Mantua 6-27-2006 by Ord. No. O-5-2006 (Ch. 18 of the 1978

All of the land lying and being within the corporate
boundary lines of the Township of Mantua are hereby established and
designed as Fire District No. 1 of the Township of Mantua.
Pursuant to the provisions of the statutes of
the State of New Jersey in such case made and provided, the legal
voters of the Township of Mantua shall by ballot determine the amount
of money to be raised for the ensuing year and elect a Board of Fire
Commissioners to consist of five persons in accordance with N.J.S.A.
40A:14-70 et seq.
The Board of Fire Commissioners shall be responsible
for the administration of the Fire District pursuant to provisions
of the statutes of the State of New Jersey in such case made and provided
regarding fire districts.
The Fire District shall hereafter be composed
of the four fire departments in the Township of Mantua, of Mantua
Fireman's Association, Barnsboro Fire Company, Sewell Mutual Fire
Company and the Center City Fire Company, and such additional companies
as the Fire District may authorize and approve.
