[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Mantua 11-14-1967 (Ch. 98 of the 1978 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Parent-Teacher Associations and the Home and School Leagues of the Township of Mantua are hereby recognized as the exclusive agencies within the Township to establish and maintain an Island of Safety Program within the Township.
The Parent-Teacher Associations and the Home and School Leagues shall cause to be prepared application forms acceptable in content to the Director of Public Safety for those persons desiring to exhibit the insignia designating the applicant's home as an "island of safety."
No such insignia shall be issued or displayed until the application is approved by the Director of Public Safety.
No person shall falsify, imitate or counterfeit the approved insignia designating any home as an "island of safety." All approvals of applications are nontransferable, are personal to the applicants and are not to be construed as attaching to the premises owned by the applicant.
Applicants shall be fingerprinted and the Director of Public Safety shall cause the fingerprints to be sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for identification.

A. 
Any person, entity or corporation who or which violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by one or more of the following: imprisonment in the county jail or any place provided by the municipality for the detention of prisoners for a term up to but not exceeding 90 days or by a fine of not less than $100 and not more than $2,000 or by a period of community service up to but not exceeding 90 days, or any combination of the above.
B. 
Each day that a violation exists, occurs or continues shall constitute a separate offense for the purpose of imposing the penalties referred to above.
