The Village of East Aurora, County of Erie and State of New York may establish and maintain a pound or pounds therein for the impounding of dogs under the provisions of Article 7 of the Agriculture and Markets Law of the State of New York.

The Board of Trustees of the Village of East Aurora, County of Erie and State of New York may create the position of Dog Control Officer and appoint one or more persons thereto, to be removable at the pleasure of the appointing power. The Village Board may, by resolution, authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with other governments to carry out the terms of this chapter.

A Dog Control Officer shall have all the powers of a Constable or other peace officer in the execution of the provisions of Article 7 of the Agriculture and Markets Law, including service of a summons and the service and execution of other order or provisions, notwithstanding any provision of the Justice Court Act.
Subdivisions 1, 2 and 3 of § 119 of the Agriculture and Markets Law of the State of New York and acts amendatory thereof are hereby amended in accordance with §§ 22-1, 22-2 and 22-3 of this chapter, effective August 1, 1961.
