GENERAL REFERENCES
Vehicles and traffic generally — See Ch. 249.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
A vehicular-type structure, primarily designed as temporary living quarters for recreation, camping or travel use, which either has its own motor power or is mounted on or drawn by another vehicle which is self-powered. With allowances for engineering variations, recreational vehicle basic entities include:
A. 
A "travel trailer" which is a vehicular portable structure, mounted on wheels, or of such size or weight as not to require special highway movement permits when drawn by a stock passenger automobile, primarily designed and constructed to provide temporary living quarters for recreation, camping or travel use.
B. 
A "camping trailer" which is a vehicular portable structure mounted on wheels, constructed with collapsible partial side walls of fabric, plastic or other pliable material for folding compactly while being drawn by another vehicle, and, when unfolded at the site or location, providing temporary living quarters and whose primary design is for recreation, camping or travel use.
C. 
A "truck camper" which is a portable structure designed to be loaded onto or affixed to the bed or chassis of a truck, constructed to provide temporary living quarters for recreation, camping or travel use.
D. 
A "motor home" which is a structure built on and made an integral part of a self-propelled motor vehicle chassis other than a passenger car chassis, primarily designed to provide temporary living quarters for recreation, camping or travel use.
No more than one recreational vehicle may be stored on any lot except that a second recreational vehicle may be parked or stored on a lot if authorized by permit.
No person shall park and occupy, for dwelling purposes, longer than 48 hours, any recreational vehicle in any portion of the Village of East Aurora without first obtaining a permit authorizing such occupancy.

All applicants for a permit under the provisions of this chapter shall file, with the Mayor of the Village, or his designated representative, an application for the same, setting forth his or her name; the name and address of the owner of the recreational vehicle; a description and license number, if any, of the recreational vehicle desired to be occupied for dwelling purposes; the place where it is proposed to park such recreational vehicle for dwelling purposes; the period of time for which it is desired to occupy such recreational vehicle for dwelling purposes; and such other information as the Mayor of the Village may require. All such permits shall be issued by the Mayor of the Village or his designated representative and shall be countersigned by the Chief of the Police Department, who shall keep a record thereof. Any permit issued pursuant to this chapter shall permit such occupancy for a period not in excess of 21 days, except that the Village Board of Trustees may authorize the issuance of a permit for a longer period for a good cause shown. The permit fee for permits issued pursuant to this chapter shall be as provided for in Chapter 137, Article II, of this Code.

Violations of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both. Each day's continuance of a violation after notice shall be deemed a separate and distinct violation and shall be punishable accordingly.
