There are hereby created the positions of Clerk
and Deputy Clerk of each elective judicial officer in the Town of
Liberty.
The positions of Clerk and Deputy Clerk of each
elective judicial officer in the Town of Liberty shall be filled by
appointment by the respective elective judicial officers. The terms
of office of the Clerk and Deputy Clerk of each elective judicial
officer shall be until December 31, 1989, and thereafter the terms
of office shall be for a period of two years.
The salary of the Clerk and Deputy Clerk of
each elective judicial officer of the Town Justice Court of the Town
of Liberty shall be in such amount as may be fixed by the Town Board
upon the appointment of the persons to fill said positions and as
may be appropriated by the Town Board for each of such offices.

The offices of one Clerk and one Deputy Clerk
of the Town Justice Court and one Clerk of each elective judicial
officer shall be in the exempt class of civil service pursuant to
the provisions of § 41 of the Civil Service Law of the State
of New York.
