[Adopted 3-25-1969 as Ch. 35 of the 1969 Code]
The owner or owners and the occupant or occupants of each and every building or lot of ground within the Town of Mount Pleasant shall keep the sidewalk or walks in front of or adjoining said premises free and clear of snow and ice and shall remove snow and ice from said sidewalk or walks to a width of at least three feet within 18 hours after the fall of snow shall cease. In case snow and/or ice on any such sidewalk or walks are so congealed that they cannot be removed, such owner and occupant shall, within a reasonable time after the same shall form or occur, cause said snow and ice to be strewn with sand, ashes or other materials in such a manner as to enable a person to walk thereon with safety.
No person shall deposit or throw snow or ice upon any portion of a street or highway in the Town of Mount Pleasant used or intended to be used for vehicular traffic.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall be guilty of an offense against the article and shall be punished by a fine of not more than $250 or imprisonment for a term not to exceed 15 days, or both.
