Any person first appointed to the position of police officer, pursuant
to the rules of civil service, shall be appointed for a probationary period
not to exceed one (1) year from the date of his appointment, after which time,
if his services as a police officer have met with the approval of the City
Manager and City Council, he or she shall then be confirmed in his or her
position as a permanent member of the police force of the City of Coatesville.
