[The Easton Suburban Water Authority was created under provisions of the Act of May 2, 1945 (P.L. 382), as amended, by Ordinance 1519, passed April 4, 1957; as amended by Ordinance 1903, passed February 16, 1966; Ordinance 2005, passed March 5, 1968; and Ordinance 2195, passed February 14, 1973. The Authority operates a water distribution system in surrounding boroughs and townships within Northampton County.

The existence of the Water Authority was extended to August 1, 2040, by Ordinance 3147, passed February 13, 1991.

Resolution 119-91, adopted November 7, 1991, amends the Water Purchase Agreement whereby the Water Authority purchases water from the City, provides for the method of rate determination and also amends the lease between the City and the Authority.

The number of Directors serving on the Easton Suburban Water Authority is increased from seven to nine, by Ordinance 4291, passed February 26, 2003.]
