The Mayor is authorized to establish any traffic
regulation not provided for by ordinance by written executive order
for a temporary period, not to exceed 90 days, subject to the provisions
of this article.
During the first week of the temporary period,
a written communication shall be sent by the Mayor to notify Council
of such proposed regulation and the reasons therefor.
The temporary period shall begin upon the posting
of signs or other appropriate notice to the public.
A.Â
If an ordinance embodying any temporary regulation
or any part thereof fails to be enacted by Council, such regulation
or any part thereof shall, at the end of the temporary period of 90
days, cease to be effective.
B.Â
If Council directs that any temporary traffic regulation
shall be discontinued immediately, the traffic control devices effecting
such temporary regulation shall be removed at once and the regulation
shall be void.
