No person shall own, keep or operate a pinball or game room in the Town without first obtaining a license therefor from the Town Council.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
GAME ROOM
Those places which derive their principal source of income from machines described in the definition of "pinball room."
PINBALL ROOM
Any public place, building or room where three or more gaming devices, machines or apparatuses are kept for the use and entertainment of the public or any place where the purpose of such business is to maintain three or more machines which, upon the insertion of a coin, slug, token, plate or disc, may be operated by the public generally for use as a game or amusement, whether or not registering a score and whether its operation demands skill or chance, or both.
The license required for a pinball or game room shall not be issued until application therefor is made to the Town Council. Such application shall be made on a form to be supplied by the Town Clerk and shall include the following:
A. 
Name and address of each owner and operator of the premises where the proposed activity is to take place.
B. 
An exact and detailed description of each activity for which a license is sought.
C. 
The number and description of each type of table or device or machine to be used in the premises.
D. 
The dimensions of the premises, building or room where the tables, devices or machines are to be placed.
E. 
The type of business conducted on the premises wherein the tables, devices or machines are to be placed.
F. 
A statement as to whether the tables, devices or machines are to be owned or leased by the applicant.
G. 
A statement as to whether the tables, devices or machines are to be used for profit.
H. 
Any further information as shall be specifically required by the Town Council.
No license issued for a pinball or game room shall extend for a term in excess of one year.
There shall be a license fee for a pinball or game room as established by the Town Council.[1]

Any license holder may seek renewal of his pinball or game room license by filing an application therefor in compliance with § 19-31.[1]

Violations of the provisions of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, Article III, of the Code of the Town of East Greenwich.
