Those certain documents, copies of which are on file in the Town Clerk's office, and which are designated and titled the “BOCA Basic Housing Code, 1970, Second Edition,” and any new additions or annual supplements which may be forthcoming, are hereby adopted as the Housing Code of the Town of Johnston, and the documents are adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this article.

A. 
Owners of multifamily dwellings within the boundaries of the Town of Johnston shall be required to list with the Johnston Police and Fire Departments the name, address and telephone number of a person authorized to give access information of such multifamily dwelling as is necessary to enable Johnston Police and Fire Department personnel to gain entrance to render emergency aid; and
B. 
Owners of multifamily dwellings are to post a notice, visible from the exterior of the building, that, in case of emergency, entrance to the building may be gained by calling the Johnston Police or Fire Department for assistance, which notice shall also furnish the telephone numbers of said departments, and the locations of at least two public phones in the vicinity.
The Johnston Building Inspector shall be required to enforce compliance by multifamily dwelling owners.
Any owner violating any of the provisions hereof, shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $50 for each offense.
