TRAILER
Any vehicle or structure so designed and constructed in such a manner as will permit occupancy thereof as sleeping quarters for one or more persons or the conduct of any business, profession, occupation or trade (or use as a selling or advertising device) and so designed that it is or may be mounted on wheels and used as a conveyance on highways or streets, propelled or drawn by its own or other motive power, excepting a device used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.
A.
It shall be unlawful within the limits of the Town for any person to park, store or place any trailer on any street, alley or highway, or other public place, or on any lot, tract or parcel of land owned by any person, occupied or unoccupied, within the Town except as provided in this chapter.
B.
Emergency or temporary stopping or parking is permitted on any street or highway for not longer than one hour subject to any other and further prohibitions, regulations, or limitations imposed by the traffic and parking regulations or ordinances for that street or highway.
C.
No person shall park or occupy any trailer on the premises of any occupied dwelling or on any lot, tract or parcel of land which is not a part of the premises of any occupied dwelling, except the parking of only one unoccupied trailer in an accessory private garage or in a rear yard in any district is permitted provided no living quarters shall be maintained or any business practiced in the trailer while the trailer is so parked or stored.
A.
Nothing herein contained shall be construed to be applicable to trailers located within the limits of the Town at the time of the enactment of this chapter or to trailer sales lots on which trailers are parked for the purposes of inspection and sale, nor should anything contained herein be construed to prevent the owner of a trailer from replacing the trailer which is located within the confines of the Town at the time of the enactment of this chapter.
B.
Neither shall this chapter apply to a trailer used by a person, company or corporation in conjunction with the erection of any building or facility or in pursuance of any public works project within the limits of the Town; provided, however, that nothing herein contained shall be construed as to permit the moving of a trailer in this section from one location in the Town to another location in the Town.
Any person found guilty of violating any provision of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than $50 and not more than $100, and every day such violation exists shall constitute a separate offense and be punishable as such hereunder.
