[HISTORY: Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lexington as § 15-15 of the 1958 Code (§ 15-15 of the 1970 Code); amended 1-17-1963. Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
Any person desiring to conduct a dance hall or a dance to which the general public is allowed admittance shall first obtain a permit therefor from the City Manager. The application for such permit shall be submitted in writing and shall specify the location, date and hours of the proposed dance, the sponsor, the anticipated attendance, the price of admission, the names of the musicians or entertainers, the name of the person in charge and any other information the City Manager may deem necessary.

Permits will not be issued for Sunday dances nor for dances later than 2:00 a.m. weeknights or 12:00 midnight Saturday.
Members of the Police Department have the right to enter any dance hall at any time for the preservation of peace and order.
