Village of Cottage Grove, WI Chapter 102 Advertising and Handbills

§ 102-1 Advertisements on public or private property prohibited; exception.

No person shall place any advertisement on any public property in any street, alley or public ground, or upon any private property except by the permission of the owner thereof, but this section shall not apply to the posting of notices required by law.

§ 102-2 Distribution of commercial handbills and advertising matter prohibited.

A. No person shall distribute or cause to be distributed in any public street or part thereof in the Village any commercial handbills, samples, or advertising matter of any kind.

B. No person, except the owner, shall place or cause to be placed in or upon any automobile standing on the streets, alleys, or public places in the Village for advertising purposes any commercial handbill, dodger, cards, pamphlet, sticker, tag or paper of any kind.

§ 102-3 Violations and penalties.

Any person who violates any provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, § 1-19, of this Code.
