Pursuant to the authority granted by Ch. 755, Wis. Stats., there is hereby established the Municipal Court for the City of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.
A. 
Office created. Pursuant to the authority granted by Ch. 755, Wis. Stats., there is hereby created the office of Judge of the Municipal Court for the City of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.
B. 
Election and term. The Municipal Judge shall be elected and serve a term as specified in § 100-1 of the Code of the City of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.
C. 
Salary. The Municipal Judge shall receive a salary to be determined annually by the Common Council, which shall be in lieu of fees and costs. No salary shall be paid to the Judge for any time during his term for which he has not executed and filed his official bond and oath as required by Subsection D of this section.
D. 
Oath. The Municipal Judge shall execute and file with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Oconto County the oath prescribed by § 755.03, Wis. Stats.

The Municipal Judge shall have such jurisdiction as provided by law and § 755.045, Wis. Stats., and exclusive jurisdiction of violations of City ordinances.
A. 
The Municipal Court for the City of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, shall be open as determined by order of the Municipal Judge.
B. 
The Municipal Judge shall keep his office and hold court in the Municipal Building, City of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.
C. 
The procedure in Municipal Court for the City of Oconto Falls shall be as provided by this chapter and state law, including, but not excluding because of enumeration, Chs. 66, 755 and 800 and §§ 23.66, 345.20 and 345.53, Wis. Stats. The Court shall abide by the Wisconsin Rules of Evidence and shall abide by the Uniform State Traffic Deposit Schedule. In nontraffic matters, the Municipal Judge shall draft a bond schedule.
A. 
The Municipal Judge shall collect all fines and taxable costs in any action or proceeding before him and shall pay over such moneys to the City treasury not later than the second business day succeeding the receipt thereof. At such time the Municipal Judge shall also pay over to the Administrator - Clerk/Treasurer all forfeitures collected by him in actions for violation of municipal ordinances.
B. 
The City Administrator - Clerk/Treasurer shall disburse the fees as provided in § 814.65, Wis. Stats., and disburse any penalty assessments pursuant to § 66.0114(1)(b), Wis. Stats.
A. 
The Municipal Judge may punish for contempt of Municipal Court of the City of Oconto Falls persons guilty of either of the following acts:
(1) 
Intentional misconduct in the presence of the Court which interferes with a Court proceeding or with the administration of justice or which impairs the due respect for the Municipal Court.
(2) 
Intentional disobedience, resistance or obstruction of authority, process or order of the Municipal Court.
B. 
The Municipal Court may, for contempt of court, under the provisions of § 800.12, Wis. Stats., impose a forfeiture of up to $50, plus statutory assessments; for failure to pay said forfeiture and assessments, the Court may impose a jail sentence not to exceed seven days.
Chapters 755 and 800, Wis. Stats., are hereby adopted by reference.
