[The current cable television franchise was
adopted by the Mayor and Council of the City of College Park 1-8-1980 by Ord. No.
79-O-7; and amended in its entirety 2-9-1999 by Ord. No.
99-O-1, introduced 1-12-1999 and effective 3-2-1999.
This ordinance revises the procedures and requirements relating to
cable television franchises to reflect changes in applicable law and
to better ensure that use of public rights-of-way by cable systems
serves the public interest. It also sets forth the terms and conditions
of the Mayor and Council's authority to regulate cable franchising
in the City of College Park. A complete text of this ordinance may
