Every person owning, operating, conducting or maintaining any gasoline pump or filling station situated upon any of the streets, highways, sidewalks, pavements or alleys in the City shall obtain from the City Clerk a license and pay a fee therefor of $10 for each and every pump or station so owned, operated, conducted or maintained. Such license shall be obtained and such fee paid on or before the first day of February of each and every year. The City Clerk is duly authorized and directed to issue such license and to collect such fees and, as they are collected, to turn the money over to the Tax Collector, who shall credit the same to the general purpose fund, from which it shall be drawn only as are other moneys of this account.
Any person installing, owning, operating, conducting or maintaining a pump or filling station after the first day of February shall obtain the license therefor when such pump or station is installed and shall pay therefor for the part of the year so installed the sum of $1 per month or fraction thereof.

Any person or persons violating any provisions of this chapter shall be punished as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II.
