As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
BOATING
Includes any means of conveyance on water by means of a boat of whatsoever kind for amusement or any other purpose.
FISHING
Either the taking or pursuing or attempting the taking of fish at lawful times and in such lawful manner as may be permitted by law.
PROHIBITED AREAS
Both sides of New Jersey State Highway 48, also known as "U.S. Highway 40," where bridge crosses over Scotland Branch of Maurice River at Malaga, New Jersey, for a distance of 50 feet from the easterly and westerly sides of bridge construction and including the bridge.
SWIMMING
Includes bathing, diving and floating, either self-supporting or with the aid of a floating device.
No person shall fish from within the prohibited areas.
No person shall swim from the prohibited areas or within 50 feet of the prohibited areas.
No person shall engage in boating from the prohibited areas or within 50 feet of the prohibited areas.
During the time or times which the water within 50 feet of the prohibited areas may be covered by ice, no person shall enter thereon for any purpose whatsoever.
No person shall swim in any natural body of water within the Township of Franklin after the hour of 10:00 p.m., prevailing time.
Any person, firm, corporation, association or legal party whatsoever who or which shall violate, or authorize or procure a violation, or cause to be violated, any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, thereof be fined not more than $50 or be imprisoned in the county jail for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
