Ditches, where needed, and depth shall be determined by Town Highway Superintendent to allow for adequate drainage. On hills, and where a high velocity of water is expected, ditches shall be lined with stone a minimum of six inches in diameter to prevent erosion.

Culverts of not less than 12 inches in diameter, meeting the specifications of ADS N-12 plastic, shall be used where needed under roadway. Placement and size of all culverts must meet with the approval of the Highway Superintendent.
C.
The road must be crowned 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch per foot from the center to the edge of riding surface to allow for adequate run off.
Guardrail shall be installed over culverts and wherever else determined to be needed by the Highway Superintendent.
All work should meet with the approval of the Town of Chatham Highway Superintendent.
