Peddling and hawking and soliciting of funds for any purpose, or orders of any kind without a permit first had and obtained from the Secretary of the Eagles Mere Borough Council is hereby prohibited.
The Secretary is authorized and directed to issue permits to responsible applicants for peddling, hawking, soliciting funds or orders, for purposes not detrimental to the welfare of the Borough of Eagles Mere, upon payment of fees as set forth from time to time by resolution of the Borough Council. Provided that permits may be issued to recognized charitable organizations without charge in the discretion of the Secretary.
Information charging violation of this chapter shall be brought by any person before a District Justice, and any person violating any provision of this chapter for each violation thereof shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $600, plus costs of prosecution for each offense, and in default of payment of such fine and costs to imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding 30 days.
