Grievance Committee members shall be comprised of volunteer Cranford residents who formerly held the position of Township Committee member.
There shall be three Grievance Committee members.
Grievance Committee members shall be appointed by resolution of the Township Committee. The initial appointments shall be for one, two and three years respectively. Thereafter, appointments shall be for a period of three years. Thus, after initial appointment, terms shall be staggered so that one person is appointed every three years.
The Grievance Committee members shall select one person among them to serve as Chairperson.
The Grievance Committee Chairperson shall coordinate Grievance Committee hearings, in compliance with applicable provisions of the relevant Township collective bargaining agreement(s), and be responsible for reporting the written findings and decision of the Grievance Committee.
The Grievance Committee shall conduct hearings and decide matters under applicable Township collective bargaining agreements which require, as a step prior to arbitration, a hearing before a grievance committee. In such cases, the Grievance Committee shall function on behalf of the Township which is the employer, and its decision following the grievance hearing shall be final and binding at that stage of the grievance procedure.
A. 
Grievance Committee members are volunteers and shall not be entitled to any salary or benefits.

Under extraordinary circumstances, the Township Committee may consider reimbursement of expenses reasonably incurred in fulfilling the duties and obligations of a Grievance Committee member.
