This article shall be known and may be cited
as "Washington Township Ordinance No. 3-93 of 1993." This article
is enacted in conjunction with and under the authority of and within
the terms of provisions of the Act of Assembly of the Commonwealth
known as the "Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code," as amended.[1]

This article is enacted pursuant to the provisions
of 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 6109(d), 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 6109(e)
and Title 67 of the PA Code, Chapter 610, § 610.42.
The purpose of this article is as follows: to provide for the erection of stop signs at various intersections within Washington Township; and the authorized stop signs are as listed in § 131-20.
It is further provided that warning signs, if
needed, shall be erected on the various roads at a sufficient distance
from the aforesaid stop signs to warn approaching motorists of the
erection of said stop signs.
Any person operating a vehicle who fails to
stop for a stop sign herein provided for shall be guilty of a summary
offense pursuant to 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 6502 and shall be sentenced
to pay a fine of $25.
