The intention of this article is to provide two additional members to serve on the Planning Board as may be deemed necessary by its Chairperson in order to efficiently maintain the conduct of affairs by the Planning Board.
The Town Board is hereby authorized to appoint two additional members to the Planning Board, who shall be known as "ad hoc members." The members so appointed shall serve for a period of two years, with the term commencing on such date as the Town Board, by resolution, shall determine. The appointments shall be made so as not to expire in the same year. If necessary, one ad hoc member may be appointed for a three-year term to avoid having the expiration dates occur in the same year.
The ad hoc members of the Planning Board appointed pursuant to this article shall sit at such regularly scheduled Planning Board meetings, as the Chairperson of the Planning Board shall determine and shall possess such powers, duties and responsibilities as the other members of the Planning Board and as permitted by law.
The ad hoc members appointed pursuant to this article shall be compensated in a manner as may be determined by the Town Board.

The size of the Town of Cicero Planning Board shall be decreased from seven members to five members.
