The solicitation of and/or the attempt to solicit anyone to
enter a place where any business, enterprise, venture or undertaking
is being conducted, with or without profit, by engaging in conversation
or communication with, and/or accosting passersby for the purpose
of urging them to enter the establishment where such business, enterprise,
venture or undertaking is being conducted is hereby declared a nuisance.

Any person violating §
145-43 of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, pay a fine not exceeding $2,000 or be imprisoned in the City or county jail for a period not exceeding 90 days, or both.
This article shall not apply to any official sale conducted
by virtue of and/or in pursuance to any court order and/or judicial
proceedings.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PERSON
Includes persons, firms, associations, copartnerships and
corporations, and the employees, agents and servants of such persons,
firms, associations, copartnerships, and the officers, employees,
agents and servants of such corporations.
This article is declared by the City Council to be necessary
in order to protect the public peace and safety of the community;
to eliminate the nuisance created by the vulnerable and highly objectionable
practice hereinabove defined, which practice disturbs the peace and
comfort of the inhabitants and guests of the City of Atlantic City.
