A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to keep any inherently dangerous animal at any place within the Borough of Irwin or to maintain any such animal at any place therein, under penalty, for each and every violation hereof, upon conviction thereof, of a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than 30 days. Each day's violation of any provisions of this article shall constitute a separate offense.
B. 
Definitions. As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
INHERENTLY DANGEROUS ANIMAL
Any animal which, because of its general nature, possesses the ability to cause serious bodily harm or death and which cannot be domesticated, including, but not limited to, poisonous and nonpoisonous reptiles and amphibians, constrictor snakes or other similar animals.
The provisions of § 88-7 of this article shall not apply to any person or entity who is regularly engaged in the retail business involving the sale of those animals described herein, provided said person or entity is licensed under the applicable state and/or federal laws to be engaged in said business.
