Any employee of the city whose position is absorbed by any other governmental agency and who, at the time of his termination of service with the city, has accrued vacation time shall be entitled to compensation for accrued vacation time upon termination of his employment as a city employee.

(a) 
The P.B.A. and U.F.F.A. of the City of Poughkeepsie do hereby elect to come under the provisions of Section 375-b of Article 8 of the Retirement and Social Security Law establishing a noncontributory retirement plan and ordinary death benefits for members.
(b) 
The members' contribution in the employ of the above shall be suspended and the effective date of such suspension shall be the payroll period beginning on the first day of January 1970.

The Common Council of the City of Poughkeepsie does hereby elect to pay the additional cost on account of any member of its Police and Fire Departments who duly elects to receive the additional benefit after 25 years of creditable service provided for under the provisions of Section 384, Subdivision f, of the Retirement and Social Security Law or any subsequent amendments thereto.

All members of the Fire Department of the City of Poughkeepsie be and hereby are entitled to each and every benefit enumerated by Section 208-b of the General Municipal Law relating to the payment of specified death benefits, and such death benefit provided under Section 208-b may be paid to a dependent father or dependent mother nominated by a certain policeman or fireman entitled to such benefit or as otherwise provided in Section 208-c of the General Municipal Law.

(a) 
It has been agreed by and between negotiating teams for the City of Poughkeepsie and its Fire Department that the members of such Fire Department shall be permitted upon retirement to take advantage of the final year average salary as provided under Section 302, Subdivision 9d, of the New York State Retirement and Social Security Law.
(b) 
The Common Council of the City of Poughkeepsie does hereby elect as provided in Section 302-9(d) of the Retirement and Social Security Law as presently or hereafter amended to grant a one-year final average salary for eligible employees, and this election shall become effective for the payroll period beginning on the first day of April 1971.
