A. 
A Tourism Commission is hereby established for the City of Canton, Missouri, pursuant to the provisions of Section 67.1364, RSMo. The Tourism Commission shall consist of five (5) members as follows:
1. 
One (1) member shall be a representative of the hotel and motel industry in the City of Canton.
2. 
Two (2) members shall be active in the tourism industry.
3. 
Two (2) members shall be members of local general business interests in the City of Canton, Missouri.
4. 
A member of the Board of Aldermen shall be a non-voting member of the Tourism Commission as a liaison from the Board of Aldermen.
5. 
All Commission members shall be residents of the City of Canton, Missouri, or of the County of Lewis, Missouri, but not less than one of the Commission members shall be a resident of the City of Canton, Missouri.

A. 
Term of members of the Tourism Commission shall be three (3) years, but the members first (1st) appointed shall serve the following initial terms:
1. 
One (1) shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year.
2. 
Two (2) shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years.
3. 
Two (2) shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years.

No one may serve on the Tourism Commission for longer than two (2) consecutive terms.

The members of the City of Canton, Missouri, Tourism Commission shall serve without compensation.

A. 
All revenues received from the transient guest tax of the City of Canton, Missouri, shall be deposited in a special fund and used solely to promote tourism.
B. 
The members of the Tourism Commission, by a majority vote, shall administer the funds from the transient guest tax within the limits of the budget for the expenditure of such funds as approved in the annual budget established and approved by the Board of Aldermen of the City.
