The rate for water service to customers of the waterworks of the City of Canton, Missouri, with water meters of three-fourths (¾) inch or smaller where water service is provided within the corporate boundaries of the City of Canton, Missouri, shall be as follows:

0 gallons — $19.95 per month

1 gallon of water purchased or more — $19.95 per month plus $5.92 per 1,000 gallons (59.2 cents per 100 gallons) used per month

The rate for water service to customers of the waterworks of the City of Canton, Missouri, with water meters of three-fourths (¾) inch or smaller where water service is provided outside of the corporate boundaries of the City of Canton, Missouri, shall be as follows:

0 gallons — $23.25 per month

1 gallon of water purchased or more — $23.25 per month plus $8.47 per 1,000 gallons (84.7 cents per 100 gallons) used per month

The rate for water service to customers of the waterworks of the City of Canton, Missouri, with water meters larger than three-fourths (¾) inch where water service is provided within the corporate boundaries of the City of Canton, Missouri, shall be as follows:

0 gallons — $22.70 per month

1 gallon of water purchased or more — $22.70 per month plus $5.92 per 1,000 gallons (59.2 cents per 100 gallons) used per month

The rate for water service to customers of the waterworks of the City of Canton, Missouri, with water meters larger than three-fourths (¾) inch where water service is provided outside of the corporate boundaries of the City shall be as follows:

0 gallons — $27.20 per month

1 gallon of water purchased or more — $27.20 per month plus $8.47 per 1,000 gallons (84.7 cents per 100 gallons) used per month

Section 705.240 Connection Fees.

All water users connected to the City of Canton, Missouri, waterworks shall be required to pay a connection fee for the service being received by the user as follows:

Three-fourths-inch water line connection: three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00).

One (1) inch water line connection: five hundred dollars ($500.00).

One-and-one-half-inch water line connection: seven hundred dollars ($700.00).

Two-inch water line connection: nine hundred fifty dollars ($950.00).

Three-inch water line connection: one thousand six hundred dollars ($1,600.00).

Four-inch water line connection: one thousand eight hundred dollars ($1,800.00).

Six-inch water line connection: two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).

If it shall be necessary to do a subterranean bore in order to complete the water line connection, the party connecting to the waterworks system shall be liable for all additional costs directly associated with the subterranean bore, including all costs directly related to the boring process.

The Public Works Supervisor of the City of Canton, Missouri, shall provide the prospective new user of water with an estimate of the costs associated with the subterranean bore.

If a water user shall construct a meter vault at the water users' expense for the purpose of housing multiple meters to serve multiple apartments or other building units, the water user shall not be charged for the connection to the water main, but the water user shall be charged for each connection made to the extension to a water meter. A "connection" is defined as the physical joining of a section of water piping, tubing or a water meter to the City-owned and -maintained water main or water main extension.

If the water user shall construct water meter wells and water main extensions at the expense of the water user, and the City of Canton has formally accepted the water meter wells, water main extension and infrastructure, and the building will be occupied by a tenant, then the tenant will be charged for a water line connection when a water meter is installed with the charges to be made pursuant to Subsection (A).

Minimum charge, regardless of number of gallons of water used, shall be seventeen dollars seventy cents ($17.70) per month.

Unit Charge. In addition to the minimum charge of seventeen dollars seventy cents ($17.70) per month, there shall be an additional charge of four dollars sixty-four cents ($4.64) per one thousand (1,000) gallons [46.4 cents per one hundred (100) gallons] of water used per month.
