The Honey Brook Borough Police Department is hereby established.

The Police Department shall be composed of a Chief of Police
and any other officers and patrolmen as may be appointed by Borough
Council from time to time. The Police Department may consist of a
Chief of Police only as the Borough Council may determine.

1. Subject to applicable civil service provisions in the law, the Borough
Council is hereby authorized to hire by resolution any person or persons
to serve as a police officer of the Honey Brook Borough Police Department
for such term or terms as may be designated in said resolution and
for such compensation as the Borough Council may determine.
2. Borough Council shall fix and determine the total weekly hours of
employment that shall apply to policemen.

In addition to all other powers conferred by law to Borough
Council and subject to civil service provisions, Borough Council may
remove or suspend, reduce in rank or discharge any police officer
of the Honey Brook Borough Police Department.

The Honey Brook Borough Police Department police officers are
hereby authorized to enforce all existing laws and will be involved
in community policing activities.

As of the effective date, this Part shall be entitled "Police
Department."

Nothing contained in this Part is intended to abridge or restrict
any lawful powers of the Borough Council or the Mayor in connection
with the Police Department.

This Part shall become effective five days after the date of
adoption, May 10, 2008.
