As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PARKING METER
A mechanical time-measuring device which indicates continually
the available time remaining for a parked vehicle and automatically
indicates when the legal time limit has been exceeded.

The Police Department is hereby directed and authorized to provide for the marking off of individual parking spaces in zones designated for parking meters or other pay parking devices and in zones designated for permit parking as described in Schedule XXIII (§
410-76) and in Article
XI through Article
XXVI, attached to and made a part of this chapter, said parking spaces to be designated by lines painted or marked on the curbing or surface of the street, lot or garage. At each space so marked off, it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle in such a way that said vehicle shall not be entirely within the limits of the space so designated.
Each parking meter shall be designed to show by a signal whether
or not the designated parking meter space is legally in use and also
to show the lawful parking time limit fixed for the parking space.
The meter, when in operation, shall indicate the progressive period
of time consumed in parking and, on expiration of the limit, shall
indicate illegal or overtime parking.

Parking fees for meters and other parking devices, and for parking
permits for nine-hour, twelve-hour, and twenty-four-hour spaces and
for overnight parking, where allowed, shall be as follows:

all 2022 and subsequent years.

Parking fees for meters and other parking devices, and for parking
permits for nine-hour, nonresidential and residential twelve-hour,
and twenty-four-hour spaces and overnight parking, where allowed in
municipal garages, shall be as follows:

An administrative fee of $10 per permit will be assessed for
all 2022 and subsequent years.
No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking
meter any slug, device or substitute for a required coin of the United
States.

No person shall deface, injure, tamper with, open or willfully
break, destroy or impair the usefulness of any parking meter, coin
box or electronic space rental machine installed under the provisions
of this article.
It shall be the duty of the police officers of the Township,
in accordance with instructions issued by the Chief of Police, to
report:
A. The number of each parking meter which indicates that the vehicle
occupying the parking space adjacent to such parking meter is or has
been parked in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter.
B. The state license number of such vehicle.
C. The length of time during which such vehicle is parked in violation
of any of the provisions of this chapter.
D. Any other facts, knowledge of which is necessary for a thorough understanding
of the circumstances attending such violations.

The provisions of this article shall be applicable to all parking
in metered and permit parking areas in the streets of the Township
and to all parking in municipal parking lots or municipal garages
where applicable, and these regulations shall be deemed to be in addition
to any special regulations provided for in any individual parking
lot or individual parking garage.
