It shall be unlawful for any person to carry on or conduct a business of exhibiting shows for any price, gain, reward, any menagerie or collection of beasts or animals or any circus, or to exhibit, show or perform feats of activity or street parades in connection therewith, or to maintain any public golf driving course or to construct and maintain any street stand for the sale or distribution of merchandise or other articles without first having obtained a license for that purpose as hereinafter mentioned.
The Township Council may, at their discretion, on application give a license in writing to any person for any of the purposes mentioned above and all licenses granted under and by virtue of the provisions of this section shall set forth the place in which such circus, exhibition, show, play or business is authorized to be made and conducted, the time and the number of days it may be continued, and before any such license shall take effect, the applicant or applicants shall pay to the Township Clerk such fees as hereinafter mentioned.
No building, shed, tent, stand or other structure of any kind either permanent or of temporary nature and used for the purpose for which the license has been issued shall be erected upon any of the property where such circus, exhibition, show, or business shall be conducted without first obtaining a permit from the Construction Official and the same to comply with the building code and also comply with the terms of any or all ordinances of the Township.
Every such license shall remain in force and be valid only for the time therein expressed, and shall apply only to the person to whom granted and shall not be transferable.
Any person to whom such license is granted is hereby required to exhibit such license whenever called upon so to do.

The fees to be charged for licenses authorized by this section shall be as set forth in Chapter 245, Fees, Rates and Charges.
Nothing in the provisions of this chapter shall apply to a concert or entertainment given for charitable or benevolent purposes or any baseball or football game or any other athletic event sponsored or managed by the Board of Education or any organization or association, the membership of which consists of the citizens of the Township and recognized as such by the Township Council.
Licenses may be revoked by the Township Council at any time for cause.
