The Village of Greenville, Outagamie County, Wisconsin is a body corporate and politic with the powers of a municipality at common law and governed by the provisions of Chapters 61 and 66 of the Wisconsin Statutes, laws amending those chapters, other acts of the legislature and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin.
The annual Village organizational meeting shall be held at the Village Board meeting following the fourth Monday of April of each year at the Village Hall unless changed by a majority vote of all the members of the Village Board.
The voting polls in the Village of Greenville, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, shall be opened from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all elections.
The Trustees of the Village of Greenville shall constitute the Village Board. The Village Board shall be vested with all the powers of the Village not specifically given to some other officer, as well as those powers set forth throughout this Code.
A. 
The Village Board shall consist of the Village President and four Trustees, all of whom shall be elected at each annual spring election for a term of two years, commencing on the third Tuesday of April in the year of their election.
B. 
The four Trustees elected at the first election shall serve the following terms:
(1) 
The term of office of the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes in the first election shall be two years ending with the spring election in 2023.
(2) 
The term of office of the two candidates receiving the remaining votes shall be for one year ending with the spring election in 2022.
(3) 
Thereafter, the term of office of all Trustees shall be two years, with two Trustees being elected in even-numbered years and two Trustees being elected in odd-numbered years.
A. 
The Village President shall be elected at the annual spring election in odd-numbered years for a term of two years, commencing on the third Tuesday in April in the year of their election.
B. 
The Village President shall by virtue of his/her office be a Trustee and preside at all meetings when present, have a vote as Trustee and sign all ordinances, resolutions, rules, bylaws, regulations and commissions adopted or authorized by the Board and all orders drawn on the treasury.
C. 
In the event the President is absent, the Vice President shall preside over the meeting and execute documents.
D. 
A Village Trustee shall be eligible for appointment as Village President to fill a vacant, unexpired term pursuant to § 61.325, Wis. Stats.
The compensation for the Village Trustees and Village President shall be determined pursuant to § 61.193, Wis. Stats.
