WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 46:8-27 et seq. provides for landlord registration requirements, and
WHEREAS, said registration is in the best interests of protection of the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Town of West New York, and
WHEREAS, the statute omits the procedures for filing with the Clerk of the municipality,
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of West New York, County of Hudson, State of New Jersey, as follows:
Every landlord within the definition and terms of N.J.S.A. 46:8-27 et seq. shall forthwith file the statements and information set forth in the statute with the Clerk of the municipality.
The Clerk of the municipality shall, within 30 days from the passage of this article, forward a written notice to all landlords of record indicating that they are required to comply with the registration requirements set forth in N.J.S.A. 46:8-27 et seq. and that their failure to do so shall result in the Town of West New York's prosecuting claims under that statute.

On or after 60 days from the date of passage of this article, the Board of Health herein is hereby authorized to enforce the provisions of N.J.S.A. 46:8-27 et seq. by filing actions with the West New York Municipal Court and otherwise to enforce the penalty set forth in N.J.S.A. 46:8-35 and to otherwise act to enforce the registration requirements set forth in N.J.S.A. 46:8-27 et seq.
