[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Brookhaven 6-16-1987 by L.L. No. 7-1987. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Notwithstanding any provisions of § 24 of the Town Law or any other general, special or local law, the term of office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Brookhaven shall be four years. Such term of office shall commence on the first day of January next succeeding the next regular biennial Town election and shall apply to the Town Clerk elected in November 1981 and all Town Clerks elected thereafter.

The Town Clerk may serve up to three four-year terms regardless of whether said terms are served consecutively or nonconsecutively.
