A Board of Health shall be appointed and constituted within the limits of the Borough under and by virtue of an act entitled "An Act to Establish in this State, Boards of Health and a Bureau of Vital Statistics and to Define Their Respective Powers and Duties," approved March 31, 1887, and the supplements thereto, and under and by virtue of any other act authorizing the formation of such Board of Health.

A. 
The Board of Health shall consist of seven members, and two alternate members (such alternate members to be designated as "Alternate No. 1" and "Alternate No. 2"), to be appointed by the Mayor and Council of the Borough.
B. 
The term of appointment of each member and alternate member of the Board of Health shall be for a period of three years, commencing on the first day of January of the year of such member's appointment.
C. 
Vacancies occurring in the Board of Health for any cause shall be filled for the unexpired term only.
D. 
All powers and duties of members and alternate members of the Board of Health shall be as provided for pursuant to applicable statute.
