GENERAL REFERENCES
Parks and recreation areas — See Ch. 132.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CHAMBERS LAKE
All areas of the water designated as Chambers Lake in any maps and plats of the Federalsburg area as such waters exist at any given time and at any water level as the said lake exists adjacent to Houston Branch Road, within the corporate limits of the Town of Federalsburg.
MARSHYHOPE CREEK
All areas of the waters designated as the Marshyhope Creek, commencing at the southernmost boundary of the municipality of Federalsburg as it crosses said water and ending at the northernmost boundary of the municipality as it crosses the Marshyhope Creek waters and to encompass all areas of the Marshyhope that contain, at any given time, any water level whatsoever under normal flowing conditions. Prohibitions of this chapter shall be in effect for all areas up to the mean high-water mark on either side and shall further be in effect for any area in which water is flowing at the time of any observed violation within the corporate limits of the Town of Federalsburg.
SWIMMING
Any act of swimming, bathing, wading, floating, or any other act placing any part of the human body within the water.
No person shall swim in any of the waters of the Marshyhope Creek and/or Chambers Lake, as it is located anywhere within the Town limits of the municipality of Federalsburg.
Whenever any police officer shall, in the exercise of reasonable judgment, decide that a person is in violation of this chapter and is in danger of jeopardizing the health, safety and welfare of either self and/or others in the community, as is prohibited under this chapter, he may, if he deems it necessary for the preservation of the public peace and safety, order that person to leave that place. Any person who shall refuse to leave after being ordered to do so by a police officer, shall be guilty of a violation of this chapter.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine for a municipal infraction as provided in Chapter 1, Article I, in the discretion of the Maryland courts.
