There shall be a Division of Community Affairs, the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of which shall be members of the Council.
A. 
The Division shall be interested in and alert to all matters pertaining directly to the health, welfare and public information of the Borough and, to the extent not contrary to other laws, ordinances or regulations, shall provide liaison between the Council and the following boards and officials:
(1) 
Board of Health.
(2) 
Board of Local Assistance.
(3) 
Board of Library Trustees.
(4) 
Borough Physician.
(5) 
Borough Sanitarian.
(6) 
Borough Director of Public Assistance.
B. 
The Division shall have supervision over the publication and issuance of such information and material as may be authorized by the Council in the nature of pamphlets, booklets, letters, etc., for the enlightenment of the citizens.
C. 
The Division shall exercise general supervision over requests for copies of the Borough records as contained in the bylaws.
D. 
The Division shall have the responsibility of keeping the public informed of all Council activities.
E. 
Additional responsibilities. The Division shall concern itself with the problems of drug abuse and abatement and treatment programs and shall establish liaisons between the Council, the clergy, the school administration and the public.
The Borough Administrator shall act as Director of the Division of Community Affairs, and he or she shall utilize such personnel from his or her staff as may be required.

There is hereby established within the Division of Community Affairs a Senior Citizen Advisory Committee which shall consist of 10 members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council. The Committee shall concern itself with matters pertaining to the general welfare of the senior citizens, including but not limited to housing and such other duties which may be appropriately assigned. The Committee shall, from time to time, report to the Borough Council. Members of the Committee shall serve for terms of one year and until their successors are approved and qualified.
