As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
FIREARM
Includes but is not limited to any gun, shotgun, rifle, handgun, pistol, pellet gun, BB gun, crossbow, bow and arrow, slingshot or any other device which impels a projectile through the use of force.

No person shall, except in necessary defense of person or property, fire or discharge any gun or other firearm within the Borough of Carlisle.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 and costs of prosecution, and in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
Nothing herein shall prohibit the establishment and operation of indoor small-bore rifle ranges for instructional or competitive purposes when the same shall be operated and supervised by a responsible local organization.
