Council shall appoint a Township Clerk according to law. The Township Clerk shall receive an annual salary as provided in the annual Salary Ordinance.
The Township Clerk shall be Clerk of the Council, shall provide such stenographic and other staff services as the members of Council shall require, and shall:
A. 
Attend all Council meetings, including work sessions.
B. 
Provide for the taking of and preparation of appropriate minutes of all Council meetings.
C. 
Compile, index and preserve all ordinances, resolutions, contracts, minutes and other documents and papers to which the Township is a party and which require retention as public records.
D. 
Prepare and publish notices, ordinances and other matters as required by Charter or general law in sufficient number to meet requirements of the public.
E. 
Have custody of the Township Seal and affix it to appropriate documents without charge.
F. 
Issue licenses and act as or supervise the Registrar of Vital Statistics.
G. 
Perform such other duties as the Council may assign and as are prescribed by general law and Charter.
H. 
Perform all functions required of the Municipal Clerk by the General Election Law (N.J.S.A. 19:1-1 et seq.).
The Clerk shall charge and receive for the use of the Township such fees for searches, transcripts and copies of official records as the Council shall authorize by resolution.
The Clerk shall be custodian of all surety bonds furnished by or on account of any officer or employee and all insurance policies and all contracts to which the Township may be a party. Should a surety bond be required for the Clerk, the same shall be placed in the custody of the Treasurer.
