The Director of Parks and Recreation shall plan
and maintain operational recreational programs and park facilities.
He or she shall supervise a staff of full-time and contractual part-time
seasonal employees engaged in sports instruction and officiating or
supportive maintenance tasks. In addition, he or she shall serve as
technical advisor to the Recreation Advisory Commission. Supervision
is general; he or she shall work under the direction of and report
to the City Manager. Specific job duties and responsibilities are
further set out under the wage and salary classifications adopted
by the Mayor and Council.
