In flood hazard areas designated on the Federal Insurance Administration
flood hazard maps adopted by the town, on-site waste disposal systems shall
be located and designed so as to avoid impairment or contamination during
flooding.
No water supply or sanitary sewerage system shall be approved within
a flood hazard area designated on Federal Insurance Administration flood hazard
maps adopted by the town unless a registered sanitary engineer certifies that
new or replacement systems are designed so as to minimize or eliminate infiltration
of floodwater into the systems and discharges from sanitary sewage systems
into floodwaters.
