The design submitted by Miss Ellen Grenell hereby is designated,
and the same shall be known as, the "Official Seal of the Borough
of Towanda."
The Official Seal, an enlarged sketch of which is attached to
this chapter as Exhibit 1, shall consist of the following:
A. A design contained in a circle, surrounded by a lettered border with
the words "The Borough of Towanda" at the top and the words "Pennsylvania
1828" at the bottom.
B. A design background of mountains showing a river flowing past and
around an island.
C. A foreground design of an Indian head to demonstrate the heritage
of the Towanda area.
The Secretary of Towanda Borough hereby is authorized to cause
the design of said Official Seal to be engraved upon metal, and the
Secretary further shall maintain such seal in good repair, as may
be necessary for the proper performance of the duties of the office
of Borough Secretary.
Said Official Seal shall be used and affixed by the Secretary
of the Borough of Towanda as directed by Council and as authorized
by the Acts of Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and more
particularly by the Borough Code of 1966, as amended.
