[Adopted 3-8-1977; amended in its entirety at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. IV) (Ch. 2, Art. I, § 2-4, of the 1977 Code)]
Unless otherwise excepted, it shall be unlawful to eat or to drink any beverage in any place where such activities are prohibited by the provisions of this article.
Eating or drinking shall be prohibited within the County Courthouse.
A. 
The prohibitions of this article shall not apply to such areas within the County Courthouse occupied by County officers or County departments where the County official or department head may designate.
B. 
The Public Property Committee of the County Board may, upon written application, grant permits allowing the aforesaid prohibited activities for limited times, places and purposes.
Signs prohibiting or permitting eating or drinking, as the case may be, shall be posted in all halls, corridors and places with letters of such size and color as to be clearly readable.
Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be fined as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, Penalties. In addition to the aforementioned penalty, the court may assess money damages against the violator of this article in such amounts as the court may deem just for any damage arising out of the violation of the provisions of this article.
