The Codified Ordinances of the Town of Coventry adopt and incorporate the provisions of the Rhode Island Motor Vehicle Code, 2008 Edition, as amended and subsequent supplements, except where specific variations from the State Motor Vehicle Code are enumerated in Chapter 231 of the Town ordinances, including Rhode Island Public Law 1992, Chapter 488, commonly referred to as the “State and Municipal Court Compact.” The adoption and incorporation of said Rhode Island Laws into the Codified Ordinances of the Town of Coventry are provided for the adjudication of violations of the same at the Coventry Municipal Court, created by R.I.G.L. § 45-2-24.
