§ 4-1 Legislative authority; appointed Assessor.

The Ghent Town Board hereby determines that, commencing with the effective date hereof, the Town of Ghent shall have a single appointed Assessor in accordance with the provision of § 328 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York. This chapter shall not be subject to any type of referendum.

§ 4-2 When effective; termination of current terms.

This chapter shall take effect immediately. Accordingly, pursuant to § 328 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York, the term or terms of all Assessors currently in office for the Town of Ghent shall terminate on December 31, 2008.
